PTFE nano film masks-new direction of epidemic protection development

      With the increase in cases of viral infections, the purchase of masks has become strained. Mask products in retail channels such as pharmacies have been sold out; most major e-commerce platforms are mostly in "out of stock", "out of stock", and "off-shelf" status.       According to preliminary statistics, as of February 3, the production of masks in 22 key provinces across the country has reached 14.806 million, an increase of 3.1% from the previous day and a production capacity of 67%. In general, the production capacity of N95 masks and medical surgical masks will take some time to recover. At present, the production capacity has been organized on more than double the scale, raw materials have been prepared, and production and supply have been started. At the same time, the government promises that the surplus medical output after the epidemic will be collected and stored by the government to fully activate the production capacity.
   
       It is reported that the masks that can reduce the effect of virus protection are mainly medical surgical masks and N95 masks. The main material that brings virus filtration to these two types of masks is a very fine inner layer of polypropylene made of polypropylene and electrostatically trapping dust—a meltblown non-woven fabric.

 

       However, electrostatic adsorption masks will have a huge disadvantage, and the electrostatic content will be transferred to production, packaging, shrimp production, transportation, and use, and the protection efficiency will gradually decrease. And with the increase of time (such as 1 to 2 hours), it is necessary for the user to breathe and other human activities, which makes the mask wet, its electrostatic adsorption capacity is weakened, and the isolation effect gradually deteriorates. In this category, a new direction for the development of poorly developed epidemic protection is a PTFE nano-film mask.

 

      Nano ordinary medical masks, nano antibacterial masks also include outer layer, middle layer, inner layer, hanging, nose clip and other parts. Nano masks are special in that the middle layer is made of smaller (100-200 nm) nano-films, which are generally PTFE materials.

 

       The film mask made of this material mainly has the following three characteristics:-, higher barrier efficiency. It is mainly because the material used has a fiber diameter smaller than that of traditional materials (non-woven materials used in traditional masks have a fiber diameter of more than 1000 nanometers), which can more effectively block PM2.5 in the air (aerodynamic equivalent diameter is less than or equal to 2500 nanometer particles), and effectively reduce the concentration of bacteria and viruses in the air;

 

       The reason is that its applied physical principle replaces the air variable and is more durable (non-woven materials used in traditional masks require electrostatic adsorption of particulate matter due to the large fiber diameter, and static electricity is affected by temperature and humidity in the environment). Failure, so only one-time use);

 

     This is mainly due to the better air permeability and moisture resistance of the nano film.

 

       In general, film masks have both excellent breathability and protective performance, reflecting the mainstream development direction of masks in the future. However, currently various masks are expensive and cannot completely replace traditional masks.
